"Carrie"ing out His gospel

Heyyyyyy

So we found a new investigator this week named Carrie!!...She dropped us yesterday...BUT it was still a cool experience. We found her while knocking and she said we could come back and teach her. So we went
back and she was blasting Night Changes by One Direction so immediately I already knew this was going to be a good experience. We taught her the Restoration and the spirit was so strong! She said she wasn't expecting much out of us coming but she actually enjoyed it and she accepted the invitation to be baptised if she finds out it's true.
Well she texted us yesterday and said we shouldn't come over anymore because she didn't feel anything special about the Book of Mormon but that's because she didn't pray about it so we invited her to do that.

But it was still cool and she will be ready one day to accept it. That was just the beginning. :) other than that nothing too exciting happened. This week should be good! Love you all and I hope you have an amazing week! xx

Hello hello!!

On P Day last week we had zone P Day in Hull and we played soccer, ultimate frisbee, and football for about 3 or 4 hours. It was so much fun!! But the next day we sure were feeling it. We could barely walk which is a big problem in missionary work but we pushed through. :) we had some training and interviews on Wednesday in Hull. I really learned a lot! And it was good to talk to President Turvey of course!

We had exchange with the STLs in Hull on Thursday which was a lot of fun! I was with Sister Pro. She commented on how I had a funny walk so good to know it hasn't changed I guess. We saw Michael on Saturday and we really focused on his faith in Jesus Christ because we realised that's the most important thing and what our purpose is here. Our purpose isn't to get people to come to our church. Our purpose is to invite others to come into Christ. So instead of focusing so much on pushing him towards baptism (though baptism is really important) we decided to focus on building his faith in Jesus Christ. When we do that, the baptisms come. :)

Yesterday we found a couple from Romania and they were asking us why we were in England so we told them and we mentioned that we tell people about Jesus Christ and build their faith in Him and the girl was like "will you tell us?!" So yeah we'll be seeing them this week. :) it was a very good week and we look forward to another good one!

Have a great week everyone! xx

Hey hey hey

I hope all of your weeks were good. Mine was great. Sister Pinther are continuing to get along great and I grow to love her more and more each day haha. We got in contact with Lisa and so we taught her about tithing and fasting and she was willing to do both once she is baptised. Unfortunately, she didn't come to church yesterday. But we still have faith that she will come around. Michael is about the same except he's a bit more ill so we haven't been able to see him much and he didn't come to church yesterday either. But I do think we are getting somewhere with him finally so it should be anytime soon that he gets baptised!

Funny Story: a few weeks ago Sister Lundahl were Street contacting and we were trying to talk to this guy but he said "I'm sorry I really need to catch a train but just pop by 202 on this road another time!" So we were stoked about that. Well. Sister Pinther and I popped by a few days ago a different guy answers so I just did a regular door approach and he says "ugh. You guys are religious freaks. And you're American. Right okay, here are 2 things I hate more than anything: 1. Adults who believe in God. Grow up, he's not real. 2. Americans. I hate Americans. Bye!!" And then slammed the door. Seriously English people are so savage, man. But we just looked each other and just started laughing. You just have to laugh at those moments.

So that was basically my week.

Love you all! xx

Hellooooo

Okay listen to this week. So Monday was pretty much a normal P Day. But then Tuesday we had to get up at 4:45 to catch a train to Leeds. I said goodbye to Sister Lundahl with misty eyes. Then me and 3 other sisters drove to the chapel to pick up our greenies!! My new companion's name is Sister Pinther from Rupert Idaho and she's hilarious!! We get along so well. It's kind of scary how alike we are to be honest. We quote movies constantly. We have a lot of fun.

We spent basically the whole day in Leeds and then we caught a train back to Hull. 3 minutes after we left the train station, the TRAIN BREAKS DOWN. So we were delayed like 45 minutes and we missed the last bus back to Grimsby. So we caught a bus to Scunthorpe and stayed the night with the Sisters there. But I'm pretty sure that was supposed to happen because one of the sisters there was one of the sisters who started teaching Michael! So we spent a long time talking about him and what we can do to help him.

Then the next morning we had to run for a bus with all of Sister Pinther's luggage to make it to District Meeting on time. (Our district leader is now in Scunthorpe instead of Grimsby) Then we FINALLY got to Grimsby Wednesday afternoon. We went and saw Lisa and taught her about the word of wisdom. She was a bit hesitant about it but she said she would try it out. We also met her boyfriend. He's a nice guy. Pretty much all day Sister Pinther had the privilege of meeting the people of Grimsby which is always a hoot. She's handling it really well. Haha. But for real, I'm so impressed with her. She is holding up so well and she is so willing to do what is asked and, though I can see it is hard for her, she doesn't let it affect her work. She's a golden trainee!

Then we had to have a plumber come and see why a leak is coming from our flat into the flat under us and we ended up teaching him the gospel so that was exciting. He texted us later and thanked us for the chat and appreciated what we are doing to impact other people's lives. Unfortunately he isn't in our area so we can't continue to teach him. But he will get picked up by other missionaries. :) Heavenly Father works in mysterious ways.

We also met this guy named Mark on the street. We asked how he was and he told us his whole life story (a common thing to happen here) and then he invited us for a cup of coffee and we told him we don't drink coffee so he said "well I have a whole bunch of tea as well" so we told him we don't drink tea either and he was like "what do you guys drink?!" As if tea and coffee are the only beverages to exist. At the end of our conversation, he said "have a good night!" And gave us both a big hug and we just sat there staring at each other, not hugging him back. It was fun.

Anyway, that was my week. I hope you all had fun weeks and that you have a fun one this coming week as well!!

Love you all! xx

HELLO

Good heavens this week has been exciting! We saw Lisa again and she said she had read a bit of the Book of Mormon and found some stuff she really liked from it that really meant a lot to her! She said she would come to church on Sunday which was way exciting!

Then Wednesday we had a Worldwide Missionary Broadcast and it was so good!! I learned so much from it. I especially learned a lot about how the basic principles of the gospel (faith, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end) can not be separate. They all work with each other. And we had a few changes to our schedule which basically just makes everything more flexible and we can get an extra hour of sleep now!!!!!

Then Thursday the elders had a baptism and we invited a guy we have been teaching English to and he came! He didn't really understand a lot of what was going on but he said he enjoyed it still. The Spirit has no language barrier. :)

And then Friday I hit 6 MONTHS. But we didn't do much to celebrate because we kind of forgot until that night...But it's okay haha.

On Sunday we had Lisa and Michael at church which was so fun! They both really enjoyed it and I gave a talk in sacrament meeting and Sister Lundahl and I taught Gospel Principles! Then in the afternoon I got a call from President telling me I'm going to be training a new Sister! I'm pretty excited but also a bit nervous. But I think it's going to be fun. :) Sister Lundahl is moving to Leeds.

The past two transfers went so fast and I can't believe we are already being separated! I'm excited to take this next step in my mission and keep striving to serve my Heavenly Father with all my heart, might, mind, and strength.

I love you all and hope you have a fantastic week! xx
